Has this ever happened to you?

Your attempting to cross a very busy street. You know the ones I'm talking about, the ones where you only get like a minute to cross, and that's on a good day. There's this street near where I live, kind of like the main drag in Vancouver. So, this one day, my boy friend and are walking back from the bus stop which is on the other side of the street. We get to this rather hellish street crossing, when it happens. Some guy on a bike drives right past us. Now, we're both blind my boy friend and I, and both of us were trying to get assistance crossing this street.

Thoughts on the rehab system

I've been at the Washington State department of Blind services Orientation and Training Center (OTC) for 2 months. I'm currently on break. Personally, I don't think they know how to deal with anyone who is above the level of working at lighthouse International or some other kind of workshop environment. I also feel that some members of the staff don't seem to get the fact that maybe just maybe some students don't like cooking what she calls "American" food. In other words, I feel stifled I feel like I have to pretend i'm someone I'm not just so I can go on to college.
