Thoughts on the rehab system

I've been at the Washington State department of Blind services Orientation and Training Center (OTC) for 2 months. I'm currently on break. Personally, I don't think they know how to deal with anyone who is above the level of working at lighthouse International or some other kind of workshop environment. I also feel that some members of the staff don't seem to get the fact that maybe just maybe some students don't like cooking what she calls "American" food. In other words, I feel stifled I feel like I have to pretend i'm someone I'm not just so I can go on to college.

I want to be treated like

I want to be treated like I'm worth something, and not like someone they can just throw around. This is my third stint at a rehab facility for the blind, and so far I've found them to be all the same. "It is the nature of the oppressor, that defines the nature of the struggle."
