Blind Planet

Hello every one I am writing this forum: because, the blind community is divided. For example there are those who do not want other blind individuals to branch out from the community, use the intelegence God gave them, others to take risks and others feel that blindness is a problem!! They tell you or some one close to you that it is nearly impossible to do certain tasks: because, they are not able to do with out sight!! They consider those who are willing to learn, try new things and accomplished them; to be stuckup, high and mighty, not "on" blind individuals and not femenin!!

OK. How many out there are blind/visually impaired and live on their own? Just wondering since my husband and I are always getting comments about how "amazing" we are for doing it all on our own. I KNOW we cannot be such a rare species.
